When does Riverlea Park open?
Xavier College Riverlea Park opens at the start of 2027 to students in Reception to Year 6. The Early Learning Centre, for children aged six weeks to 5 years, will also open at the start of 2027.
Construction is scheduled to commence mid-2025.

Who can enrol? Do I have to be Catholic to attend?
While we proudly celebrate our identity as a Catholic College, we warmly welcome enrolments from all faith backgrounds and those seeking a faith-based education.
Due to the high volume of applications the College receives, we prioritise prospective students according to our enrolment criteria.
How will joining Xavier College Riverlea Park benefit my child?
Enrolling at Xavier College Riverlea Park offers your child an exceptional, future-focused education within a caring Catholic community. Embedded in the Salesian tradition and the teachings of St John Bosco, our College is dedicated to nurturing each child’s intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth.
From their early years, students at Riverlea Park will be immersed in a learning environment that:
- Provides a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy while fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Offers a broad curriculum across key disciplines, including STEM, the Arts, Humanities, and Religious Education.
- Features state-of-the-art facilities such as STEM Maker Spaces, Multimedia Studios, a Food Technology Centre with integrated rooftop garden, an Aboriginal cultural heritage trail, and a community and sports facility that includes multiple district-level sporting grounds.

With a guaranteed pathway from Reception to Year 12 across our Xavier College network, students will experience a seamless transition through their schooling, supported by a community that values excellence, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
Where will the new campus be located?
The new campus will be built along Riverlea Boulevard, close to Port Wakefield Highway. It will be located in Riverlea’s first neighbourhood activity centre, featuring integrated education, community and sports infrastructure.

What facilities will be available at Riverlea Park?
Xavier College Riverlea Park has been designed as a modern, purpose-built campus that fosters creativity, collaboration, and a love of learning. The flexible, student-centred spaces will support academic excellence while ensuring a sense of belonging and engagement.
The Primary School Building, opening in 2027, will feature:
- Three-storey design – An impressive three-storey 6-star energy-rated building with centralised communal spaces which flow through to dynamic learning environments and cutting edge facilities.
- Flexible Learning Spaces – Dynamic classrooms designed to inspire collaboration and active learning.
- STEM Maker Space – A hands-on learning hub for robotics, coding, 3D design, digital fabrication, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI).
- Science Laboratory – Equipped with the latest tools and technologies, the Science Laboratory is a place of experiments and scientific exploration.
- Food Technology Centre – A dedicated area for students to develop essential culinary and sustainability skills.
- Rooftop Garden – A unique outdoor learning environment promoting food preparation, sustainability and wellbeing.
- Multimedia Studio – A creative hub for digital storytelling, podcasting, and media production.
- Sacred Space – Used for school and community gatherings to foster meaningful faith-inspired connections
- Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Trail – A dedicated area including yarning circles and nature play to honour and integrate First Nations knowledge and traditions.
- District-level sporting facilities – Through a combination of campus-owned facilities and a shared-use agreement with the City of Playford Council, from 2027 our campus will enjoy access to a soccer pitch, a multi-sport oval and three multi-sport courts, with a two-court indoor gymnasium and additional playing fields to come in future years.
Future stages will focus on the Middle School and Senior School Building, as well as expanding facilities across the campus, ensuring students from Reception to Year 12 have access to cutting-edge resources as they progress through their educational journey.

What sporting facilities will be available? How are they being shared with the local community?
Xavier College Riverlea Park and the City of Playford, through a shared use agreement, will share access to an adjoining community and sports facility which includes district-level sporting grounds and open green spaces. The campus and community hub operate across a 15-hectare site providing learning, recreation and connection to the Riverlea Park community.
Over time, Xavier College students and the wider community will enjoy access to a range of district-level facilities including two soccer pitches, a multi-sports oval, nine multi-sport courts, a two-court indoor gymnasium and other recreational amenities. From the opening of the campus in 2027, one soccer pitch, the multi-sport oval and three of the multi-sport courts will be available, with more to be constructed in the future.
During school hours, only school students and staff will have access to the shared facilities, which will be fully fenced to ensure student safety.

Will my child have a full pathway to Year 12 when I enrol at Riverlea Park?
When you accept an enrolment at Riverlea Park it comes with a guaranteed Xavier College pathway to Year 12.
Opening in 2027, Xavier College Riverlea Park will welcome students from Reception to Year 6, offering a nurturing and engaging primary school experience. After Year 6, students will either continue their Xavier College journey at Riverlea Park or will transition to our Two Wells or Gawler Belt campuses, depending on how the new campus grows in the coming years.
This staged approach ensures that enrolment numbers at Riverlea Park are of a critical mass to enable the campus to provide a broad and diverse curriculum offering and a well-rounded educational experience. It gives students sufficient choice to pursue subjects, interests, and career and further education pathways that most appeal to them. It also provides important social and wellbeing benefits that come from learning alongside a vibrant, connected peer group.
As the campus grows and specific enrolment milestones are reached this will trigger the construction of the future stages including the Middle and Senior School buildings.
Will there be an Early Learning Centre?
Yes, an Early Learning Centre (ELC) will open on the Riverlea Park Campus from the beginning of 2027. Operated by Eden Academy and known as Eden Grove, the ELC will cater to 141 children from six weeks to 5 years.

Will there be an OSHC service?
Yes, the Riverlea Park Campus will include an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service when it opens in 2027. Further details, including how to enrol, will be shared in the future. The service will operate in line with our existing OSHC programs at the Evanston and Two Wells campuses. See our OSHC page for details.
When will the Head of Campus be appointed?
The Head of Campus – Riverlea Park will be appointed in 2026 allowing time to build a strong team and prepare for a successful opening in 2027.
In the lead-up, Xavier College Principal Mr Mark Flaherty, Transition Coordinator Mr John Cameron and College Executive Officer Mrs Liz Polljonker are leading preparations for the new campus and its first students.
Who will staff Riverlea Park?
Xavier College Riverlea Park offers an exciting opportunity for passionate educators and support staff to help shape a brand-new campus from the ground up. Employment Expression of Interest
Can current Xavier College students request a transfer to Riverlea Park?
At Xavier College, once a child joins our community, they are provided with an entry point into a Reception to Year 12 pathway. We appreciate that most families are happy at their current Xavier College campus and will prefer to remain there, however for some, the opportunity to transfer to Xavier College Riverlea Park may suit them better, due to location or work.
As such, the College invites families to submit a formal transfer request to the Principal, via an email to the College Registrar ([email protected]). The request should include:
- Your child’s name
- The reason for the transfer request
- When you would like the transfer to occur (including future years)
- Any other relevant information.
Transfer requests must be sent by 4:00pm on Friday, 22 August 2025 (the end of Week 5, Term 3), regardless of the date you would like the transfer to take effect from.
The Principal, in consultation with the College Executive Team, will review all transfer requests collectively after this date and will advise parents/guardians of the outcome via email. Transfers are subject to the College Enrolment Policy.
I have submitted an Application for Enrolment for a different Xavier College campus but would like to transfer it to Riverlea Park. What do I do?
If you are partway through the application process for a different Xavier College campus but would now like to transfer it to Riverlea Park, please contact the Enrolment Officer at the campus where you originally applied. They will be happy to assist you with the process and guide you through the next steps.
What are the school fees?
The school fees for Riverlea Park are the same as our other Xavier College campuses. More information can be found on our Fees page.
What uniform is worn at Riverlea Park?
The College uniform distinguishes our students in our community and contributes to building a sense of belonging and connection amongst our student body.
The uniform requirements at Riverlea Park are the same as our other Xavier College campuses. This means that students in Reception to Year 9 wear their Sport Uniform every day. Students in Year 10 to Year 12 wear the Sport Uniform on days they have a PE class or Oratory sport, and otherwise wear the summer or winter formal uniform.

Will bus services be available?
Yes, bus services will be available to transport students to and from the Riverlea Park Campus. Specific details, including routes, timetables and fares, will be shared in the future.
Are there any upcoming information sessions?
Yes, between now and the opening of Xavier College Riverlea Park in 2027, we will host various information sessions and events allowing families to find out more about the new campus. This will include opportunities to meet the Head of Campus and teachers.

When and how do I enrol?
Applications for enrolment are being accepted now!
We are now welcoming enrolment applications for students entering Reception to Year 6 in 2027, with one additional year level available each subsequent year (eg Reception to Year 7 in 2028, Reception to Year 8 in 2029 and so on).
Families are encouraged to submit applications as early as possible, as demand is high. Applications may be submitted at any time leading up to the opening of the campus.
