Respect Understanding Affection Humour
Life for our students is based on the Salesian way of education. Their timetable is structured in such a way that a great deal of time and resources are allocated towards the development of strong positive relationships between teachers and students where the students feels loved and valued.
The Oratory or Home teacher is the driver of this. They are the main link between your family and school and during your child’s time at Xavier. A very open and trusting relationship is allowed to develop between oratory teacher, student and your family.
For many of our students the Oratory and their teacher are the most stable things in their lives. For many it becomes a second home, an environment where they feel safe and cared for.
We have built an element of play and enjoyment into the college community to complement the hard work done from an academic point of view.
We want our students to be genuinely happy and that means enjoying time together in a variety of ways including structured activities with staff and students. Some activities are undertaken as part of the House structure. The Bosco Cup gives students a strong sense of identity and pride in their House as they work together to vie for the prize given to the most outstanding House overall.
