Our Year 7/8 Boys Football Team has made Xavier College history, claiming the College’s first-ever Boys Knockout Football Championship with a fantastic victory in the Division 3 Statewide Schools Competition.

Competing against 31 schools throughout the term, the team produced an outstanding campaign, defeating Playford International College, Riverbanks College, Birdwood High School, and St Joseph’s School Clare on their way to the final.

In the championship match, Xavier College defeated the River Murray and Mallee Districts combined team 16.11 (107) to 10.10 (70) to secure the title.

Co-captains Hamish and Lewis led the team superbly throughout the competition, with Hamish delivering a remarkable performance in the final, kicking 12 of Xavier’s 16 goals.

The achievement reflects the hard work, determination, and teamwork shown by the entire squad throughout the season. To finish as Division 3 champions from a field of 31 schools is an incredible accomplishment and a milestone in Xavier College sporting history.
