Students Celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime

Our Evanston and Two Wells primary students recently came together to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime, a nationwide event that encourages a love of reading and storytelling.

This year’s featured book was Luna Roo, written by Adam Wallace and Adrian Beck and illustrated by Jake A. Minton. The heartwarming story follows a young kangaroo as she learns the importance of courage, perseverance, and believing in herself. Throughout the day, students enjoyed a range of activities inspired by the story during library lessons and lunchtime sessions, bringing the characters and themes to life.

The celebration was made even more special for our Two Wells students with a visit from Liane and Brenton from the Uleybury Native Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to Kangaroo Rescue and is dedicated to protecting native wildlife and educating the community about caring for Australian animals. Students were delighted when Liane read Luna Roo and shared her passion for wildlife conservation.

Adding to the excitement, students also had the opportunity to meet Olivia the baby joey, who quickly became a favourite among our young readers.

National Simultaneous Storytime was a wonderful celebration of reading, imagination, and learning, helping inspire a lifelong love of books and storytelling in our students.
