Remembrance Day
This week, the College marked Remembrance Day with meaningful ceremonies held on Monday and Tuesday. The services were attended by a distinguished group of guest speakers, who shared their insights and reflected on the sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces.
Among the speakers were Flying Officer Kenzie Valer from the Royal Australian Air Force, Flight Officers Felicity Cooke and Brad Tucker, Warrant Officer Class Two Josh Goldstraw from the Australian Defence Force’s Joint Proof and Experimental Unit, and Lieutenant Commander Danielle Echeverria from the Royal Australian Navy. Their words resonated deeply with students, staff, and visitors, fostering a sense of respect and gratitude for those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country.
In addition to the campus services, our College’s Campus Captains took part in local community services in Two Wells and Gawler. Their participation in these ceremonies underscored the College’s ongoing commitment to remembering and honoring the service of Australian Defence personnel, both past and present.
Additionally, Gawler Belt Campus students also planted clay poppies at the entrance of the Gawler Belt Campus, creating a beautiful and touching display for families when they arrived on Monday.
These Remembrance Day activities serve as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by so many and reinforce the College’s dedication to preserving the legacy of those who have fought for our freedom.
Lest we forget.
