Gawler Belt Campus Cap Off Term 3 with Celebration Assembly

Yesterday, we gathered for our Term 3 Celebration Assembly. This special event is an opportunity to The Gawler Belt Campus recently came together to celebrate the outstanding achievements of students across a wide range of areas, highlighting their talents, commitment, and community spirit.

The event began with a look back at the 2025 College Musical, Glass Houses, where cast and crew members Mia, Declan, Neve, and Eva shared their reflections on bringing the production to life. Families can read more about the musical and view photos here.

Victoria and Ellie then spoke about their experiences as Year 11 Agriculture students representing the College at the Royal Adelaide Show. Fourteen Xavier students presented their goats in competition against more than 30 schools from across South Australia. The animals were weighed, judged, and paraded in the Main Arena, with Xavier College placing an impressive 2nd overall for presentation and animal control in the Grand Parade.

Special achievements included:

  • Muller (led by Victoria) — 1st place Lightweight Dairy Goat
  • Victoria — Best Handler (Muller’s category)
  • Bartholomew (led by Tristan) — 6th place in Class 1

With over 250 goats competing, this was a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the students’ dedication, skill, and teamwork. Photos from the event can be viewed here.

The celebration also shone a spotlight on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, who have been actively involved in cultural and educational programs throughout 2025. From Tjindu, the Aboriginal Basketball Academy, and SAASTA, to Nunga Club weaving, yidiki, and art workshops, students have strengthened their leadership, wellbeing, and cultural connections.

The event concluded with the announcement of the 2025 Sporting Shield, presented by Old Scholar Chelsey Arthur. Congratulations to de Sales House on taking out this year’s shield.

This celebration reflected the many ways our students strive for excellence, whether on stage, in the show ring, on the sporting field, or through cultural learning. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the spirit they bring to our College community.
