Building momentum at Riverlea Park: 100 students on board for 2027
The vision for Adelaide’s newest Catholic school community continues to gather momentum, with Xavier College Riverlea Park reaching a significant milestone. 100 students have now accepted their place ahead of the campus opening in 2027.

Since announcing the new campus in May this year, Xavier College has received more than 240 enrolment applications, with 100 interviews now completed and families already committing to becoming part of this exciting new chapter in Catholic education.
This milestone follows the recent Breaking Ground ceremony on 14 August, which officially marked the start of construction of Xavier College Riverlea Park. With works now underway, the new campus is becoming a visible reality for families who are eager to see the school rise from the ground.
Acting Principal of Xavier College, Rozanna Elmassih, said the strong interest demonstrates the community’s confidence in the project and belief in the College’s values.
“To already have 100 students confirmed and ready to start their schooling journey with us shows that families see the exciting opportunities this new campus will bring. They are choosing Xavier College because of our commitment to each child’s growth, wellbeing and future. Construction is now underway, and there’s a real sense of anticipation as families see the campus taking shape. It’s an extraordinary moment for the College.”
Among the latest families to join Riverlea Park in its opening year are Amritpal Singh, Vandana Sharma and their sons, Japtej, 5, and Gavvy, 3. Gavvy is the 100th student to accept a place. The family lives locally in Riverlea. Amritpal serves in the Australian Army as an operator uncrewed aircraft system (drone operator), and Vandana is studying to become a registered nurse.
“We started looking for a school about four years ago when we knew we’d be building our house in the North. After a lot of research, we chose Xavier College,” said Vandana.
“For our boys, the most important thing was finding a school where they felt safe to be themselves and excited to learn. Xavier emphasises raising kind, respectful and resilient kids, which means our boys will learn to be good humans, learning to share, stand up for others and bounce back from mistakes.”
The family initially enrolled both boys at Xavier College Two Wells, and were delighted to learn a campus would be built just minutes from their home in Riverlea.
“I think Gavvy’s most excited about the adventure of it all: new people, new games and feeling like a big kid in a place that’s all about fun and learning. He’ll love zooming around the playground or kicking a ball with his teachers. Xavier’s outdoor spaces are perfect for him.”
With construction underway, the family enjoys visiting the site together.
“Watching it take shape and imagining their future there is incredibly exciting.”
Xavier College Riverlea Park will open in 2027 for students in Reception to Year 6, growing to Year 12 in future years. Stage 1 includes a three-storey learning hub, flexible and modern classrooms, and specialist facilities designed to spark creativity and innovation, including STEM “Maker” spaces, multimedia studios and food technology areas.
With applications continuing to grow strongly, families who would like their children to be part of the foundation years at Riverlea Park are encouraged to apply now.
