Xavier College Advisory Board
The Xavier College Advisory Board is an important expression of the educational partnership that exists between Catholic schools, families, parishes, and the wider community. It is:
- the formal voice of the community to the Principal;
- a forum for discussion and discernment, where parent and community perspectives are available to advise and support the decisions made by the Principal;
- a consultative, review and advisory body;
- a sounding board for all stakeholders;
- a point of liaison for families, staff and parishes; and
- part of the broader governance framework of Catholic education.
Importantly, the Advisory Board is also an expression of the significant contribution of the laity to the mission of the Church.
The Xavier College Advisory Board undertakes its role in accordance with the rules as set out by Catholic Education South Australia. The rules set out the structure and membership for the Advisory Board, the advisory and support role that the Archbishop requests that the Advisory Board undertakes and clarifies the Advisory Board’s relationship with the Principal of the College.

Becoming a Board Member
Each year, when positions on the College Advisory Board become available, members of the College community are invited to nominate to join at the College’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Information about the nomination process is shared with families ahead of the meeting each year.
