Celebrating Shrove Tuesday
The College was filled with the aroma of syrup and community today as students gathered to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. The annual pancake feast, a beloved tradition across our school community, saw students and staff sharing a meal to mark the beginning of the Lenten season.
While the pancakes were a welcome treat, the event carried a deeper significance. Historically known as a ‘last feast’ before the fasting period of Lent, the day serves as an invitation for personal and spiritual growth.
As the festivities conclude, the community now turns its focus toward Ash Wednesday. This transition marks the start of a 40-day journey of renewal, characterised by increased prayer, thoughtful reflection, and acts of generosity.
