Gawler Belt Celebrates First Italian Day

The Gawler Belt Campus was transformed into a vibrant celebration of Italian culture this week, as students embraced the spirit of Italy for Italian Day.

The day was filled with cultural experiences and delicious food, starting with a live pizza-making demonstration by the team from Mattia’s Pizza. Year 9 Italian students had the opportunity to learn about traditional pizza preparation — and even taste the results! Several students were also rewarded with freshly made pizzas as prizes for their success in last term’s Italian quiz.

The festivities continued throughout the day with a lively Briscola tournament held in the plaza and rounds of Italian Bingo in the hub, giving students the chance to engage with the language and culture in fun and interactive ways.

A huge grazie to Mattia’s Pizza and all those who helped make the day a memorable celebration of Italy’s rich heritage.
