Professional instrumental teachers are available to teach a wide variety of instruments. Students are also able to participate in additional instrumental lessons. The lessons are rotated so that students do not consistently miss the same lesson. Families should note that these lessons incur an additional cost.
A Concert Band Program is run during Year 7 music classes to provide opportunities for new brass and woodwind players to emerge.
There are several bands at the College that students are able to join:
Every two years, we stage a major musical which is held at a commercial theatre where students are invited to perform in the orchestra, formed especially for this event.
Other opportunities for live performances occur during lunch-time concerts; assemblies and liturgical celebrations. We also hold a Battle of the Bands for rock groups and students perform at competitions like the Balaklava Eisteddfod.
Our community performance opportunities include the Catholic Schools Music Festival, Gawler Show and a cabaret style performance at the end of the school year showcasing our talented music students.
The College welcomes enquiries from Instrumental Tutors wishing to teach at our campuses.
