Xavier College offers a Catholic Education to all who seek such an education in line with the information contained in our Enrolment Pack.
Whilst we celebrate that we are a Catholic College, we accept students from all faith backgrounds and those who do not identify with any religion or faith community.
Where the number of enrolments exceeds the available places in any year level, Xavier College will give priority for acceptance as follows:
The Two Wells Campus currently accepts students from Reception to Year 6 and from 2022 will take Year 7 and 8 students. The campus will then progressively grow to cater for all year levels R-12 as demand indicates.
Xavier College Gawler Belt accepts students at all year levels from Year 7 to Year 12 where places are available. Our main intake is Year 7.

The care of our students is a priority at Xavier. Your child will be placed in an Oratory (Home Class) with students from Year 7 to 12. Their Oratory teacher will develop a relationship with you and your child from the very beginning through SPOT (Student, Parent and Oratory Teacher) interviews before they begin at Xavier and these are then held twice each year.
Each House has a Director of Teaching and Learning and Director of Pastoral Care that
supports the teachers in ensuring your child’s journey at Xavier is one that develops not only their
academic abilities, but also their confidence, self-esteem and sense of belonging.
Students also have access to a wide support network which includes the Assistant Principal of
Pastoral Care, Counsellors, Careers/Transition/VET and Adaptive Education Coordinators.
Gawler Campus
If coming from Gawler, follow Redbanks Road leading into Mallala Road, and then turn into Kentish Road, Gawler Belt.
If travelling on the Sturt Highway, either from Adelaide or the Barossa, follow the exits onto Mallala Road.
We have a student 'pick up' and 'drop off' zone within the College’s main car park.
Two Wells Campus
If coming from Adelaide Travel along the Princes Hwy and exit at Mallala Road. Turn Left onto Meaney Road and then right onto Benjamin Franklin Boulevard.
Xavier College chooses to support students getting involved with the local community sporting clubs.
Students also participate in inter-school competitions, internal swimming carnival, sports day and cross country events.
Students get the chance to represent the College in activities such as: Athletics, Swimming,
Cross-country, Gymkhana, a number of Carnivals, Bi-annual Musical, Pedal Prix, Eisteddfod, Bands, Choirs.
Camps and excursions are compulsary and form part of the Curriculum.
Our students participate in camps in Years 5, 6, 7, 9 and 12. We hope to run some kind of overnight experience for our Year 5 and 6 students, which may be a camp or similar. More information will be provided at a later date.
Year 7 students will participate in an orientation camp where they will have the opportunity to strengthen old relationships and make new ones.
In Year 9, students participate in a ‘Challenge Camp’ where they have the opportunity to work collaboratively and challenge themselves in a range of situations that they would not normally be placed in.
The Year 12 Retreat is a time for our students to reflect on themselves as individuals, the relationships they have formed at school and to give thanks and affirm those with whom they have shared their secondary schooling life. This event is one of the most powerful and enjoyable experiences of a student’s time at Xavier College.
We have a zero tolerance to bullying, however, a process of Restorative Practice (a system that gives the victim a voice) is used.
We offer Italian from Reception to Year 6 at Two Wells Campus and Indonesian is offered from Year 7 at Gawler Belt Campus.
Music is an integral part of the curriculum and all senior students have the opportunity to participate in performance groups including choirs, stage bands and instrumental groups. Individual tuition in a wide range of instruments and voice is also available at the College via the engagement of external tutors paid directly by the families.
Differentiation, Tournament of Minds, Cosmic Camp, State and National subject specific competitions and extra-curricular opportunities.
We have an Inclusive Education Team Coordinator, who does an excellent job in working with families to ensure individual learning education plans are implemented across all curriculum areas at Xavier. We exclusively use fully qualified teachers for in-class support. Psychologist reports can be provided to the school on enrolment or when updated.
Junior School
We set homework which is age appropriate to the age and ability of the students. Besides supporting and reinforcing knowledge and skills, homework can also help develop sound study habits. The focus in Junior school is to foster their love of reading, this can be done by practicing sight words and listening to parents
read to them in the Early Years.
Senior School
Year 7 Semester 1
English and Maths will be allocated weekly homework activities (Maximum 90 minutes per week per subject).
Year 7 Semester 2
Maths, English, Science and Humanities will be allocated weekly homework activities (maximum 1 hour per week per subject).
Year 8 Semester 1
Maths, English, Science and Humanities will be allocated weekly homework activities (maximum 1 hour per week per subject).
Year 8 Semester 2
All subjects will be allocated weekly homework activities or summative assessment work (Maximum 1 hour per line per week).
Year 9: 75 Minutes per subject per week
Year 10: 90 Minutes per subject per week
Year 11: 2-3 Hours per subject per week
Year 12: 3+ Hours per subject per week
Our Student Hub is open until 5.00pm (Monday to Thursday) and 4:30pm (on Fridays) for students to complete their homework.
No. We do not have specific age/year level areas. Our College is large enough for students to find comfortable/safe areas.
Gawler Belt Campus
The canteen is open before school, recess and lunch every day. EFTPOS facilities are available.
Two Wells Campus
Lunch orders from Two Wells Bakery will be offered to families on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. You can place your order using the QKR app. We are extremely proud and excited to be helping support the wonderful and welcoming community of Two Wells
Some subjects require them, however, they are provided by the College as part of the school fee structure.
Yes. Parent permission and House Director approval is required for students in Years 7–10.
Year 11 and 12 students do not need parent permission, however must be referred via the House Director.
No boarding facilities are available for students.
Yes at the Two Wells Campus from 6:30am in the mornings and until 6:30pm in the evenings.
We do not offer OSHC at the Gawler Belt Campus.
